There was a point in time where it was happening SO DAMN OFTEN at my store to the point where my manager made it a thing where she told all shifts and baristas at my store that when it happens, make it for them if its 1 or 2 items. But if its more than that, then they can either get it from the other store or pay for it at our store and get a refund for the other order. She had us doing that back when there was shortages cuz it was happening way too often that it was messing with wait times. So after my manager implemented that rule, it didnt happen as much..maybe here and there. But now i think were back to making it at our store. The other day when it was raining and crappy out, 4 girls came to our store and they were waiting a bit and they placed the order to another store and my manager just had us make it for them at our store which was nice cuz they were so happy. But back when it was happening many days out of the week, my manager implemented different rules

I have no problem making them drinks, fuck it Starbucks can afford it. I'll even tell them to go to the other store later and get their drinks again

yeah, idk if it’s been a “huge” increase at our store because it’s always been a multiple-times-per-day occurrence but i feel like there’s been an uptick lately.
our policy is to send them to the register if they approach bar/handoff, verify the receipt, then use right now recovery so they’re not charged again but it counts for sales & inventory, gets put in the queue, and prints stickers since no one at our store can read cups. and if you don’t want to wait, well, you’re free to go to the store you ordered to.
