TIL that some stores get breakfast sandwiches fresh… my store gets fresh paninis and protein boxes but not breakfast sandwiches & I knew some stores had all frozen items
Beg1nAga1n 22 points 6m ago
Yea our breakfast sandwiches and paninis and protein boxes all come fresh! Although for a week or two we were getting frozen bacon goudas and that was confusing for me to pull haha
Ristrettooo 90 points 6m ago
This isn’t a new thing at all … how were you doing the pull before? Did the app not make you count sandwiches before telling you how many to pull?

edit: I forgot fresh stores exist.
chamorrobro 42 points 6m ago
TIL frozen stores exist

Fresh markets get sandwiches delivered daily, already thawed. Frozen markets only get a few deliveries a week, sandwiches come frozen and are a part of the AM pull. If you are in a fresh market, just do the egg bites and ham & swiss croissants. Your pull to thaw app must have glitched.
nicolelynnejones 20 points 6m ago
We used to be a frozen store but transitioned to a fresh store. Maybe OP is in the midst of the opposite process but wasn’t told?
AuntieRia1128 [OP] 8 points 6m ago
I hope not, we Definitely have no room to store frozen breakfast sandwiches!
Cathach2 1 points 6m ago
They get delivered to one of your big fridges and thaw over night, super easy
AuntieRia1128 [OP] 1 points 6m ago
We only have one freezer, so yeah, there’s no way we would be able to fit them
witcheselementality 68 points 6m ago
My first store was a frozen store and we pulled all of our food. My store now is a fresh store and we get all of our food delivered every day.

I still think it's so funny that neither types of store realize that the other one exists
Chromosomes23 20 points 6m ago
I’m a frozen store I didn’t know till now and we are high volume so we have a full walk in freezer 😅
_circuts 14 points 6m ago
How often do you cry in the walk in freezer? Be honest.
Chromosomes23 2 points 6m ago
It isn’t sound proof so we have a back hallway that’s more sound proof for breakdowns lol
ElijahLordoftheWoods 11 points 6m ago
I legit had no idea fresh stores existed
witcheselementality 5 points 6m ago
Neither did I until I transferred. It sucks too because you don't have much control over how much food you have, which means we run out of all sandwiches before 3pm
7beforeminutes5 1 points 6m ago
And many don’t realize different us markets have different foods too. Like the Seattle area has peanut butter & jelly protein boxes but we don’t have them in montana
AuntieRia1128 [OP] 40 points 6m ago
We Never pull sandwiches, we get them delivered in the morning and then put them out… we only pull egg bites and ham and Swiss croissants
Beg1nAga1n 13 points 6m ago
There was a notice in IMS a few weeks ago that some fresh stores would get some sandwiches frozen because of a shipping error. It’s temporary. We got bacon goudas frozen and had to pull them for a while but we are back to normal now!
filmphotographywhore 6 points 6m ago
I guess it just depends on if you’re a kiosk or licensed store maybe? But all corporate stores, from my knowledge, count their pull
Responsible_Snow7109 7 points 6m ago
Im a corporate store and we get our stuff delivered daily. The daily deliveries include paninis and grilled cheese and strawberry overnight grains and berry trio yogurt and protein boxes. And we get our breakfast sandwiches delivered daily. The only thing we pull at my store is the egg bites and ham and swiss croissant as far as foods go besides pastries
olivinemultichrome 2 points 6m ago
My old corporate store got paninis/protein boxes delivered fresh every other day, all other sandwiches had to be pulled from frozen daily. I didn’t realize entirely fresh stores existed. My tarbucks got everything including paninis frozen and protein boxes delivered weekly.
Responsible_Snow7109 2 points 6m ago
Yea its nice cuz i open tuesday thru friday and i open up the tote every morning with all the RTDE stuff and a few crates (or whatever theyre called lol) of breakfast sandwiches. Its nice to see that. The quality of the food still isnt that great tho 😄 cuz...well..its starbucks lol its essentially jimmy deans sandwiches from the supermarket lol but yea the only two other stores besides mine that I've worked which was also a corporate store and one was drive-thru and one wasn't and they both also a fresh store!
SpicyH0tCheeto 4 points 6m ago
We have always done this at my store
AuntieRia1128 [OP] 7 points 6m ago
Really?! We only count egg bites and ham and Swiss croissants
AuntieRia1128 [OP] 3 points 6m ago
When you do it, you just count it and then they send based on that? Cause we don’t have any to pull like we do with the egg bites…
Caffeine-addict19 1 points 6m ago
We get frozen delivery once a week. I know we count everything we have thawed that isn’t going out that day and then it’ll tell us how much to pull, which lasts two days in the fridge with egg bites being a week.
Gameb0i6 3 points 6m ago
What do you mean now? You’ve always had to count them when doing the weekly count.
aGrapeInUtero 2 points 6m ago
Didn’t know some stores got all their sandwiches fresh lol only stuff we get fresh would be our protein boxes and paninis
Next_Resolution_3889 2 points 6m ago
*stares in fresh store confusion*
emily_fey 2 points 6m ago
We are a fresh store and i have to count and date sandwiches every morning. We only have a two man open so it sucks and takes me forever😓
dfarner 2 points 6m ago
Must be a glitch. This is the pull and not just a department count?
barrrristaaa 5 points 6m ago
as a SSV, i have to count all of my FOH and BOH food every morning. i think it varies on fresh food store vs frozen
Firm_Visual_5094 1 points 6m ago
I’m at a frozen store and we get food every other day alll bfast stuff and pastries come frozen and paninis and yogurts are fresh. This post originally confused me cause I had absolutely no idea there were fresh stores out there
makmelaf17 1 points 6m ago
Well the opening shift should have been counting delivery..... at least that's been the rule since I been a shift.
AuntieRia1128 [OP] 1 points 6m ago
Yeah, we count it, but it’s against a paper order we have, this was midway through the day, when we count which egg bites we have left defrosted and what we need to pull for the next day..
taybabynicole 1 points 6m ago
We always counted sammys so idk
Maddyc0709 1 points 6m ago
We are a fresh store and count sandwiches and RTDE every morning. Our third person in is the sandwich person. Should definitely be counting so you can adjust receipts accordingly! We get shorted pretty often.
AuntieRia1128 [OP] 1 points 6m ago
Yeah, but when they are counted it’s not on the 18hr pull, it’s against the order you received, right? This was on the 18hr pull at 10:30am
Maddyc0709 1 points 6m ago
Correct. Hmmm yeah that’s super weird!!
bellamythos 1 points 6m ago
fresh store here too. we do count our (delivered thawed) sandwiches and RTD&E as part of opening tasks, though that’s entered/adjusted in IMS not the pull-to-thaw app.

aside: does your “sandwich person” come in at or before opening? at our store we open with one barista + one ssv and usually the opening barista counts sandwiches when they date dot & restock.
Maddyc0709 2 points 6m ago
We do it in IMS as well! We usually have an opening barista and ssv which are in at 4. Our sandwich person comes in at 4:30!
ggdabs 1 points 6m ago
All of our sandwiches are frozen.. is that standard for lower volume stores?
Legitimate_Dish2092 1 points 6m ago
This looks like an ad hock
Electrical_Metal_106 1 points 6m ago
Based on how a lot of the Starbucks technology works, I’m guessing it’s a glitch. Ask your SM. Maybe they updated something that wasn’t passed down.
tourniquette2 0 points 6m ago
Wait. Did y’all not always? We always have.
