12 hour requirement (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by insertusernameplease
My anxiety is getting the best of me, I’ve been sick this week and realized I’m only going to end up with 11 hours unless I pick up a shift. I’ve been working here since July and have only had 2 or 3 weeks that I’ve worked less than 12 hours due to illness. I usually do 25-35 hours, I should be fine right?
Also I’ve only actually called out maybe 3 times, otherwise I’ve had my shift covered in advance.

its by an average so you should be good

It’s average over the span of the quarter. If you’re still worried you can use sick time and it will count towards the required hours (:

Oh thats good to kno! Thank u! I came across ur comment and currently im not at risk of being under 20 hours and losing my insurance but my store also hasnt started the major labor cuts. For us, that usually starts in january at some point. As far as the 12 hr thing goes, my manager has never scheduled me under 16 hours. I think the least ive got is somewhere in the teens like between 16 and 18. So for me personally im not worried about me being under 12 hrs but in case im ever at risk for losing my health insurance, at least now i kno sick hours count towards the average required per quarter for insurance. Plus i got like somewhere between 11 to 17 sick hours. I never call out lol i should use it if im ever at risk of losing insurance cuz i needs my expensive medications 😐

what’s the 12hr requirement for? i’ve never heard of this and only have 6hrs the next two weeks 😬

It’s every quarter averaged hours. So as long as the rest of your schedules have a bit higher hours you should be okay .

There’s a requirement for twelve hours? I’m only scheduled for eight-and-a-half hours this week so I guess I’m screwed…

It's an average, so if you usually work 18+ hours you'll be okay

Part of the requirement is on the SM to schedule for 12 hours, so you’re fine
