Asking for a friend of a friend, does it explicitly say in the handbook that finding coverage if you’re sick is NOT your responsibility, and if so, where? Thanks!

Yes it does! I don’t remember where exactly because I don’t have mine on hand currently but it should be somewhere in the section about time off I believe

It does, it is in the handbook. I do not have it in front of me but I promise you it does. You are also not required to say what is wrong with you, although it is nice if you mention it’s not COVID related.
As a ssv yes it sucks when someone calls in and we have to find coverage, but I would take it 100 times over making a partner work when they don’t feel well.

as a fellow ssv, i would also take a callout and finding coverage for them over having them come in and get everyone else sick so that half the store calls out for the next week…
or making a barista come in when they don’t feel well and exacerbate their condition so that they’re sick for a week instead of three days.

me thinking back to november when before my SM went on vacation told me not to call out if I didn’t have sick hours and forcing me to come into work with no voice and a hacking cough
