What is the policy on hoods on a sweater? I know we’re not supposed to wear the hoodies, but can we wear them if we took them in now that it’s about to hit below zero everywhere (self.starbucksbaristas)

I can't understand the second sentence, but no hoods means no hoods.
Both-Selection-5302 [OP] 4 points 6m ago
That was suppose to read tuck under

You could try and see what your SM says🤷‍♀️

No hoodies. There’s no rule about tucking them. Just no hoodies.

my store enforces the no hoodies rule pretty strictly. but we’ll make exceptions for when it’s reallyyyy cold, especially if it’s raining/snowing or windy! can’t hurt to ask!

As a shift, no hoodies, HOWEVER, I will wear a fleece jacket (Columbia/North Face type) which has been allowed by my SM. I will typically ask baristas that wear hooded items to tuck the hood or remove the garment, depending on what they’re wearing (like if they’re wearing a crop top under that hooded “shirt”, I’ll let it slide if they tuck it…)

As a shift I've let people wear theirs as long as they tuck the hood in. You're not supposed to wear them cause the hood could get snagged on something and knock it over.
I'm a major klutz and I don't think I'd be able to catch an urn and pull it off the counter, but I guess there's a chance it could happen.

my sm told me she didn't gaf unless our dm walked in-- she said in that scenario, i just rip it off and pretend i didn't have one on

You can tuck the hood into the sweater. Stay warm
Both-Selection-5302 [OP] 2 points 6m ago
Thank you

Your SM might say something, but I’m assuming if you’re in a cold area it really doesn’t matter

The yup suppose to get in the single digits.?, I have reached out , nobody is willing to ask so I will .

You can wear a beanie, but no hoods. At my store you can wear a winter coat at the window - but you can’t wear a hoodie to your shift.

My store has been refusing to replace the Starbucks jacket's, so I say fuck that rule if they want us to sit in the window with -35 windchill 🤷🏻‍♀️

Crap you win

My store makes exceptions for working drive through when it’s cold, they can have a hood and it has to be up
Brilliant_List7381 2 points 6m ago
no hoodies at all. i’ll tell my baristas they can tuck it in for the day but that they have to come back tomorrow with something other than a hoodie. id really only make an exception if you’re in a super cold area and genuinely need a jacket because of how cold it is with the window open, but that’s just the general rule. just bc you can tuck a hoodie in doesn’t mean they can be worn whenever you want- again, with exceptions. (that’s how it works where i work, but if your SM is cool about it, that’s great, do whatever you want LOL)

Omg we got down to nine degrees today facing 40 mile an hour winds I thought I would die.? More than once the drinks got blown over!

Especially for a window that faced into the 25/30 winds coming.
