It’s not illegal it’s just petty. I’ll usually just make sure to repeat HCMT when I say their order back and if they ask about it I’ll explain that it’s not a menu name and to prevent any confusion they might want to know the menu name. No need to be rude or petty about it. Lots of people simply just don’t know.

It’s not illegal at all. It was only illegal for Starbucks to list them on the menu as “medicine balls” when they’re not medicated. All we’re responsible for is referring to it as honey citrus mint and ensuring the customers know that it isn’t actually medicine.

I just tell people that Starbucks doesn’t call it that for legal reasons as it has no actual medicinal properties! As for that coworker, she sounds friggin’ AWEFUL to work with! Such petty behavior over something that isn’t even that serious.

It must be tiring to be so dramatic.

It’s not illegal, we just cannot market it as being a medicine ball due to it having no medicinal properties. If the company marketed it as a medicine ball on the menu it would lend towards a larger opportunity to be sited due to there being no medicinal properties. In similar vain to the Red Bull gives you wings law suit.

I mean.. if I’m feeling particularly petty I will just act confused when someone orders a “medicine ball/sick tea” and say we don’t have anything by that name on our menu.

It’s not illegal, but we can’t call it “Medicine” bc there’s no medicine in it. Some people will get unhappy if you don’t call it by the “secret menu” name (Med ball), so be careful. had to refuse service bc this lady was being completely unreasonable over the drink’s name.

Silly

it’s not illegal for them to order it that way, but we cannot advertise it as a medicine ball cause there’s no actual medicine in it
Financial_Hand3685 2 points 6m ago
It literally says we aren't to call it that because it doesn't contain medicine nor are we licensed medical professionals, but it does not say the customer can't ask for it. I just repeat it back as a honey citrus mint tea. So basically, we can't call it that, but the customer can.

Ayyy fuck customers 🤷🏽♂️
Potential-Read-4824 1 points 6m ago
thats annoying,, i just tell customers “oh you mean the honey citrus mint tea?” and explain the whole what not of why we cant call it medicine and they’re usually ok with it
HaWt_SaWcE62 1 points 6m ago
We just can’t promote them as medicine, medicinal, or having any medicinal effect

Petty & it must suck to live life waking up feeling like screwing somebody’s day up over not knowing the proper name for their coffee 😂 what a gem
