Getting through (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Shoddy-Trainer-8051
I’ve been working with Starbucks for a year now, I have a goal of getting my ASU degree and as soon as I have that, I quit. The problem is, I’m starting to wonder if I can do another 4+ years with the siren. It’s been so physically, mentally and emotionally draining and it seems like every week gets harder… any advice?

You may also want to try another store? I love my store.
Most days, not that there aren't awful days, with awful customers. But we have a pretty good management team. I would exhaust my possibilities before leaving. That benefit is almost impossible to replicate.

I’m transferring to a new store in May, I really hope that that’ll work. The biggest problem at my store IS management tbh.

Sending good vibes your way that they're better there. It makes all the difference to have good management. We've switched SM and a couple shifts in the 8 months I've worked for Starbucks and things got much better.

im going through the same thing tbh. my advice is to try to find some sort of time to relax, or try looking into scholarships so you can actually leave.

I’m trying to find myself hobbies and stuff to focus on and keep my mind on so I have things to look forwards to doing while I’m stuck and suffering at work

It’s just coffee. Hard to actively put into practice but a huge help also maybe consider transferring could help a lot if you don’t have a good support system at your store

That’s kind of one of the big problems. I have no support and bc I’m moving in May it’s like ppl are even worse at supporting me but I always support ppl so I just have to start being a little “mean” and treating ppl the way they treat me

I feel this. I graduate this fall and I am severely burnt out. I’ll be honest, some days it’ll really suck. My advice is to take it day by day. On days when you really are struggling to get through a shift, consider the following: work 1 shift and make a little money or take on a few thousand dollars in debt.
Doesn’t seem like much, but this comparison really helps me. Good luck! Feel free to DM if you need anything related to ASU!

Thank you so much, that actually really helps!

I’m going through the same thing right now, but im approaching my 6 months with the sbux. I don’t believe my degree will take me 4+ years due to transfer credit, but these cuts hours lately have been stressing me out..
It seems like our store is a never ending peak ://
