People who send their drink back multiple times over minor/stupid things.

Had a woman come in the other day who sent back her americano with extra cream because it wasn't hot enough. So I remade it with a little less cream. Nope, that wasn't enough cream for her. I put an extra, small splash of cream in there. She said it wasn't hot enough again. So I tried remaking it with steamed milk. She didn't like the foam. So I tried one last time, doing my best to perfect the cream to coffee ratio. She said "this still isn't right but I'm not gonna ask you to remake it because this is getting ridiculous." You're right, this *is* getting ridiculous! 👋 😀

I had a lady come in the other day and tell me her iced peppermint mocha was too dark and when I offered to remake it for her she said “no just give me a cup of ice!” and then demanded I put whipped cream on her new trenta cup of ice. Then she complained that the peppermint mocha was still too dark in the new cup (no shit Sherlock you just added ice??) and when I offered again to remake it she said “no you guys can’t seem to do anything right here!!” then stormed off with a trenta cup with a broken lid 🫠

Right up there with the ones who look at their tall drink just *absolutely disgusted* and ask if it’s a large. ‘No ma’am a tall is a small and you ordered a tall, here’s your tall Frappuccino.’ And then continue to stare at it or me, expecting we’ll give them a venti for free. Which isn’t happening with that attitude. Like I get it, our size names are stupid. If you don’t know which is which, just order small medium or large or fucking ask us! But I’m not asking bar to remake a TikTok drink because you ordered the wrong size and then coped an attitude about it.

Now if they are like ‘oh darn it, tall is small? I thought it was a large, can I pay the difference?’ that’s different, they get their venti, probably for the price of the tall cuz it’s a bit of a faff to re-ring and do a partial refund.

There was a lady who would come in occasionally who would order the most ridiculous things she possibly could. Her orders were always different, but I remember one being a trenta passion fruit iced tea lemonade with 11 pumps of caramel, 11 pumps of vanilla, 5 pumps white mocha, xtra caramel drizzle, and vsccf. I’m not even sure if they were Tiktok drinks because she seemed to be ordering them off the top of her head and, as annoying as Tiktok drinks are to make, they usually aren’t as gross as this lady’s orders.

Once she got her rancid concoction, she was always *shocked* by how horrible it tasted and demanded that we remake it. She would have us remake the same foul drink 3-4 times before she would get frustrated and just leave. She did this every single time.

I’m convinced it was a power trip thing, because her drinks were always a pain in the ass to make, she ONLY came by when we were totally slammed, she never ordered anything practical, and you could tell she took pleasure in watching us remake the same disgusting drink over and over again. If I had the chance to make the moment wrong with her, I would’ve made it so wrong that shit would’ve turned right.

i was doing dt and cafe and mobile bars, and we had a rush in dt and mobile. she was cafe and had been standing there just watching me for awhile, so i asked her what she had. “2 caramel frappucinos made w almond milk” so i made them for her, and she like huffed, and said “i asked for extra caramel” so i put more on top. she was like “that aint enough i wanted the caramel like IN the cup and on top AND more whipped cream. where is your manager?” LMAO i pointed at her saying “shes right down there!” the lady didnt move and i was like “well ill remake them for you” and she was like “im not trying to be difficult” like MAAM there are so many others waiting patiently, i had to remake your stupid drink 3x when i couldnt even see your ticket in the first place and you didnt tell me any modifications… and the thing is!! she did not even ask for ANY modifications other than almond milk at the register.

This guy wanted to order 2 of every item on the menu, food wise, in the drive thru. They yelled and yelled saying their “mom was dying” and they “need the food now” which makes no ducking sense. My manager ended up taking their order and letting them stay until he drive thru and got pissed at me saying “their money pays your check” and I told him “corporate pays my check, I thought you didn’t want customers running over us or is it just running over you?” And he got pissed off at me but he couldn’t do shit cuz every other barista was mad at him and didn’t wanna back him up. I refused to serve the guy who ordered, I didn’t take him the food, when he came in to complain on the wait time I directed him to my shift. Didn’t deal with it. Had an absolute asshole of a customer who would send back his nitro if it wasn't still cascading when he got it. He was the type that would sit in the window and refuse to move, even if you needed extra time to make his drink. He'd also order like 7 long shots and 6 trenta waters. He'd sometimes have you remake his the drinks 3-4 times. On my last week at Sbux (put in my notice), I handed him his nitro, which was not cascading, and as he was about to tell me (not ask, he was rude af), I just slammed the window on him and didn't go back. There were no customers behind him so after like 10 minutes he left. He held up the line so often and complained to corporate so often that I just told my SM he pulled his usual nonsense. I was the SSV, so she believed me.

I was on drive for 2 hours during my shift yesterday and had one customer say “poor kid, you shouldn’t be working” while handing her the drinks and I was too cold to think so I deadass stared at her with no emotion 💀

i no longer work at starbucks, but when we went through the great dragon fruit pieces shortage of 2021 boy did i meet many customers who i did not enjoy. One of them (who turned out to be a guy that i know who is really nasty human’s relative just to add to it) came through and ordered a mango dragon fruit refresher. i forgot to tell them that that we were out of peices, which was a mistake on my part totally slipped my mind. At the window i’m handing them their drink and they say oh can i get peices and as i start to say “sorry unfortunately we’re out of peices but…” (me about to comp their drink and send them in their way for the inconvenience) they chime in “WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DONT HAVE PEICES” “i’m sorry, the drink will taste the same i can even-“ “I CAME TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT BECAUSE I WANTED A MANGO DRAGON FRUIT. I WOULD HAVE ORDERED SOMETHING ELSE HAD I KNOWN, I WANTED TO CRUNCH THE BERRIES THW BERRIES HAVE CRUNCH I WANTED TO CRUNCH THE BERRIES” (their reasoning was litterally they wanted to CRUNCH berries, i will never forget this) and then continued berating me for five minutes, calling me every name in the book and telling me i’m worthless and that i don’t know how to do my job, and then they pull the whole “i’m never coming back here again”. i was just like “okay!” and closed the window with a smile, called my manger over, sobbed in the mop room for 3 minutes and came back lol. they were back the next morning at opening, first customer & they ordered a venti mocha cookie crumble #tobeapartner

When I ask someone to speak up at drive because there’s 50 mph winds or they’re ordering from the passenger, and they say it like “V E N T I…. I C E D…. C A R A M E L.. M A C C H I A T O…” like I just needed you to speak up, don’t talk to me like I’m dumb lol.

Or when I hand them the drink and it was supposed to be hot or iced or a different size, I do take the drink back. No one is getting free drinks like that because I know most ppl are just trying to play the system.

I had one lady order two tall cappuccino and they yell at me saying they don’t “feel” right. “No other starbucks makes their cappuccino like this! There’s not supposed to be this much foam!” I offered to remake, they said add more coffee. I tried explaining to them I can’t, you need to buy more espresso. I even kindly mentioned the difference between a cappuccino and latte and they started getting erratic. Eventually, her daughter came over, screamed at me, and I kept repeating “would you like my DLs number because I can’t do anything at this point” but her daughter said “NO I’ll call customer support” ok GIRLY 💀 as if that’s not a corporate dead end.

After they left, customers in the building came up to me and congratulated me on my calmness. I really just wanted tell this woman she’s stupid for order cappuccinos.

when they make a delivery or mobile order and it says “in a *whatever size drink it is* cup” especially after a day where we ran out of grande hot or venti iced cups like do you think i am putting things in the wrong size cup for fun im not a fucking idiot

it’s such a small thing but it happens every time we run out of a cup and have to use a bigger cup and i even explain it ! and put a note in the deliveries!! do they want me to cancel their order if we don’t have the right size cup ?!?! it’s such a small thing and it shouldn’t make me as mad as it does but i just want to give them a venti drink in a short cup when they do that
