so, i’ve been asking to be a trainer for a while. i’m good at being a barista. i’ve been 30+ hrs the entire time i’ve been at my store, picked up at other stores, and overall a very well rounded barista. i get compliments from customers and constantly am told i do a really good job at the store. despite all this, my manager won’t let me be a barista trainer ?? we’ve gotten quite a few new people and they’ve been trained at other stores or trained by our new barista trainer. this trainer left starbucks for over a year and just came back and was able to be a barista trainer without going through the barista training again herself?? i genuinely don’t understand. i’m beyond frustrated. just a vent.

i’ve been asking for months and he just won’t do it. lately, it’s bc my availability w my second job (ironically, im part time in education) but i’ve told him to let me know ahead and i could make things work. we didn’t have a trainer until we got a partner who came back after being gone for a year, he had her just immediately be a trainer without retraining. she’s our only one, weird store situation over all :/
