add a perfect bar it's a meal

One of my most vivid memories from Starbucks was working Christmas and being rushed THE ENTIRE DAY non stop, no break, just lines.

We had 3 people working and we literally could not clean almost anything until the end of the day when we locked the doors.

We were there for literal hours after we closed trying to clean.

So many dishes.

i had to work christmas eve and we closed at 3 and didn’t leave until after 5 cus it was so busy :( 10/10 wouldn’t recommend
citrusglazedsalmon 130 points 6m ago
the buzz ball really tells a story 😭
w0lvesteeth 42 points 6m ago
it’s ROUGH out here!
sweetxfracture 84 points 6m ago
Lmao the buzzball. But for real, woof I’m so sorry
Anangel017 75 points 6m ago
As a closer on Christmas Eve, it was hell. But I didn’t want to leave a shitshow for the Monday opener. I honestly dgaf if we went over time w my other closer but we left a great store. We put all the pastries, and sandwiches in donation bags, left everything ready for to just do the mochas, chais etc. I truly hope they appreciate it 🥹 bcs we left late
w0lvesteeth 34 points 6m ago
I’m sure the opener appreciated that, you’re a gem! I would have for sure
insanityizgood13 3 points 6m ago
They most definitely did! Our closers did none of that, & the mall we're located in opened early - we were short-staffed...today was rough, & I wish our closers had paid it forward, if you will.

WHO BROUGHT A BUZZBALL TO WORK LMAOO
hoewenn 4 points 6m ago
Tbh can you blame them LOL
hlfblind 38 points 6m ago
as someone who mostly closes all of these make complete sense except for the buzzball lol. christmas eve sucks, have some understanding for ur closers, were often understaffed to hell.
w0lvesteeth 38 points 6m ago
believe me, I do. I’m very understanding and lenient when it comes to my closers. This closer is known to drink on the job and has a history of closing like this. My understanding and patience is running a little thin. Already talked to my manager about it.
Rough-Tie-3084 22 points 6m ago
How tf did they even get as far as ‘known to drink on the job?’ Like holy shit. I get not immediately firing them and trying to get them help if it’s a substance issue, but it really shouldn’t come to the point where this is acceptable
w0lvesteeth 12 points 6m ago
I wish you could see how my store functions, it’s chaotic… That might be an understatement though.
hlfblind 15 points 6m ago
context wldve been important !! i thought this was just more general closer slander, unproductive and just draws weird unnecessary lines when the company is the problem, yknow? but knowing this person Drinks On The Job tells a more complete story.
w0lvesteeth 8 points 6m ago
that’s my bad but noooo definitely not slander, i 100% understand where you are coming from
hlfblind 20 points 6m ago
closer opener alliance against the real enemy: the company itself 🫡
Electrical_Metal_106 3 points 6m ago
This makes the original post make more sense to me. It’s one thing to have a crap close on a major holiday where it’s slammed all day with little staff and people trying to get home for their own festivities. But, if it is a habit for this particular closer, I can totally understand your frustration.
moonbean37 35 points 6m ago
the buzzball took me OUT
shipssiren 25 points 6m ago
I wanna see that cold bar sink
w0lvesteeth 16 points 6m ago
stay tuned
shipssiren 9 points 6m ago
I'm already getting popcorn
Shoddy-Trainer-8051 21 points 6m ago
I would 1,000% send these to my manager
w0lvesteeth 3 points 6m ago
omg I did, she told me to describe what the store looked like outside of those pictures so she could have it on file and send it to our DM

I work at a licensed store (a small booth in a Safeway), a cross-trained grocery manager was the only one who volunteered to work Christmas day. She didn't find any of the defrosted sandwiches or pastries to date them or use them. Didn't date any of the things she made (mocha, VSC, Lemonade, etc). Left dirty dishes in the sink and didn't sweep or mop. None of the expired pastries or sandwiches from Christmas day/eve were thrown out. We had a brand new person open today and he didn't fix most of the stuff, because he didn't know better either, I'm the mid shift and had to deal with all that right when I got here. Haven't found any buzz balls yet.
jess20cardenas 7 points 6m ago
Loved being a partner! The clean up was the best when everyone contributed their part! 🤣
tyty_dj123 6 points 6m ago
My manager would write up the entire closing shift if it looked like that, jesus
Key-Administration52 7 points 6m ago
managers love to do write-ups but hate to be active on the floor with their partners🤣
saturn235 5 points 6m ago
The buzz ball lol
b99__throwaway 5 points 6m ago
that buzzball would be going home with me lmao
Holydrip713 5 points 6m ago
Bro I walked in this morning and there was no preps made 😭
hoewenn 4 points 6m ago
Damn they must have been blasted if they actually forgot to take the buzzball with them. I would have kept that on my hip all shift if it were me, then again I wouldn’t drink at work. Just smoke!
Mediocre_Study8460 3 points 6m ago
Please be an opener at my store 😭😭 we constantly have to stay late to meet the openers and my SM ungodly expectations of our store to be absolutely spotless every morning and completely stocked for them, then get scolded for staying late
WallyBBunny 3 points 6m ago
I kinda understand the boxes being inside if it was in the negative degrees. They should’ve been up up nicer tho. I was the closer on Christmas Eve and my SM said ‘it doesn’t matter how the store looks just get out on time. It will be slow in the morning.’ (He’s an outside hire.) 😑
However we didn’t. We got out an hour later and the only thing we didn’t do was mop and maybe stock a few lids. (Afterwards I got a text from him saying our numbers were good and we could stay.) 🤡🤡🤡 I just didn’t want to leave the store a total mess because it’s just not fair to do so.
lilwebbyboi 3 points 6m ago
The buzzball, lmfaoooo
dirtychai0218 2 points 6m ago
i closed xmas eve and opened this morning it was nice to be able to leave the store the way i wanted it but now i want a buzzball
marigshu 2 points 6m ago
I understood everything up until the buzzball LMAO
No_Ad_349 2 points 6m ago
Corporate is on their way to investigate lmao
haleslyons 2 points 6m ago
I really hope you sent a these photos to your SM, cause holy shit…
kikuuq 1 points 6m ago
You know what this makes me feel so much better about my Christmas eve close 😬 I forgot to toss the pastries and stuff that would be going out on Christmas and on Christmas eve
Faustamort 1 points 6m ago
There's some trash and they forgot to dump the sani, ok. Were the tils, safe, pulls, and counts done?

If this is a recurring issue, that's something to bring up. Personally I got out an hour and a half late last night. Didn't leave this kinda mess, but certainly wouldn't feel bad if I did. Here I am closing today and everything is fine - got the store cleaned and restocked. 1 day of mess isn't going to ruin the store.

Your floors look nice, they definitely did some work. Not sure about that pile in the first pic...
w0lvesteeth 1 points 6m ago
i brought it up thank you ^-^ <3
HarleySpicedLatte 1 points 6m ago
Looks about right for Christmas eve. Give them some grace.
We haven't received our last two deliveries and we're running out of everything. Things could be worse..
w0lvesteeth 1 points 6m ago
lol please look at my other comments and you’ll understand, i give all my closers grace and understanding :-)
R1P2MYOUTH 1 points 6m ago
i was feeling bad the other night bc i forgot to make kegs (but the store was otherwise beautiful)...this made me feel a lot better about what *i* considered a bad close😂😂

edit to add: just noticed that buzz ball..i just know that xmas eve closing crew was in the trenches😭
w0lvesteeth 1 points 6m ago
Ah that’s not so bad! openers can always make kegs, those usually don’t take me long at all!
-Ana-- 1 points 6m ago
Nvm me over here in awe with how big your back room is 🤯
