Starbucks Medical Insurance (self.starbucksbaristas)

How much is your medical insurance premium for your family? Looking into applying for part time employment for the medical insurance. I’ve heard it’s great.I need insurance for Myself, spouse and 4 kids.

For the actually employed partner it's incredibly affordable. In my region it ranges from 20 to 100 per paycheck, or 40-200 per month. Adding dependants can add hundreds to the cost as Starbucks subsidizes a smaller percentage of families. If using it for your whole family, depending on your desired coverage level and desired number of hours (minimum 20 hours per week average to qualify for medical benefits) it could eat up almost all of your paycheck. Of course it also varies by region. It is still cheaper than buying it independently, at least in my experience.

If that is a good fit for you, and the insurance is more important that actual income, (it was for me when I was getting it through Starbucks because my husband's last job payed very well, but didn't provide family coverage) then it's totally worth it and the plans are pretty high quality and I've never had any problems at any level of coverage that I've taken. However, if you need substantial take home pay as well as the insurance, a full-time position somewhere else might be a better fit as even shift supervisors are rarely all that close to a full forty a week. Whatever your situation, I hope that helps.

Best of luck!

> last job *paid* very well,

FTFY.

Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:

* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*

* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*

Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.

I have Keiser platinum plan it’s amazing I pay 200 for myself and 200 for my son. So 400 a month. I was in the hospital for a month giving birth and I paid 200 total for a month long stay.
