I don't think its official policy, its just very common for most stores.
Our partners got over $7/hr in cash tips on Christmas :)

Unfortunately it’s not an actual policy. But a lot of store managers understand that it’s the fair/right thing to do.
We’re volunteering time away from family during a holiday that revolves around being WITH family. And the reason customers are much more generous with their tips on Christmas (or thanksgiving) is because they know that we’re spending our time working instead of at home.

We were told at the end of the day, after being told only Christmas employees get Christmas tips, that our Christmas tips would be tipped out with everyone who worked that week.
I was more than a little upset. I was a borrowed partner so I'll probably only get like $7.
