This whole shift complement is so stupid. Having your shifts in your store for more hours helps so much more with store operations. I just don’t understand why they’re doing this. It’s so frustrating to see hours being cut when I work so hard. Now, I have to probably find a part time job so I can pay my rent.

There's so much my SM doesn't tell us. I don't know what a shift compliment is.

Shift compliment is having more than one SSV on the floor at a time . Every so often DMs tell SMs they have to limit it severely. Depending on how many shift supervisors your store has and how long your store is open for and what the shift compliment is can quickly mean cut hours or working 5 days instead of 4 for the same amount of hours. For example, a couple of months ago I was scheduled 4 days a week for 30 hours .. now I have some weeks where I work 5 days to get 27.. lately it’s been 21 hours for 4.

They can't "afford" shift compliment during this quarter. Business is cutting back on the people you pay the most. That would unfortunately be the SSV. They'd rather pay minimum to 5 partners instead of $21-22 for 5 ssv. They care about numbers, absolutely nothing else.
