Feeling guilty for not covering shift (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by dontcry2022
Got a text yesterday asking me to cover. The part I'm most guilty about is I didn't respond this morning bc I had some kind of anxiety over whether I wanted to pick up the shift or not and I also wasn't sure if it was the best way to manage my time on my scheduled day off. Responded this morning and the partner was already going in themselves.

Another part of my guilt is that I actually do need the money and got several days off to travel for Christmas. So I feel like a lazy person.

Not answering when you saw that text was inconsiderate. You should not feel guilty for saying no though. You were not obligated to and being tired or not wanting to pick up a shift doesn’t make you lazy. Even if it did, who cares why would you feel guilty for being lazy?
