Shift supervisor here, have been for 2 years and barista for 3 years before that. I want to go back to being a barista, the stress from the massive expectations and pressure that are piled on us is really getting to me. I have looked over the partner guide and various other documents and can't find anything. Anyone able to help?
For context we have very little shift supervisors as it is which is part of the problem as I feel so stretched thin to the point I sit at hone stressing about the next shift

I stepped down at the beginning of the year. Your health is more important! All I did was let my sm know that I was choosing to step down (knowing I would take a pay cut) and he was very supportive. There’s no process to my knowledge.

I stepped down recently due to all the recently added stress. Things are so much easier now. . Plus with cc tips going, and more scheduling flexibility as a barista, I didn’t really take too much of a pay cut.

The pay cut isn't an issue as the gap between barista wages and shift wages is getting narrower where I am, but they keep adding more responsibility so I'm like what the point 🤷♂️

We are in the same boat my friend! I have been studying all the materials and non of the missions and values are being upheld at my store.... this is not what I signed up for.
I have known several to step down and it was no biggie- they just asked for it and it was done. Just be careful to have boundaries for yourself and not get roped into doing some of the job and not paid for it. I see this happen a lot
You know what is best for you, listen to your gut and heart :) Take care of yourself!

Thanks, Im worried that they will give me an ultimatum of either stay as a supervisor or leave. I loved being a barista and want to return to it so I have the energy to actually get up on my days off and do something.
