New barista and co workers are all telling me different things!!(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by iwannacry69
Been here for 2 months and let me set the scene, basically it’s a bunch of teenagers working who are all fairly new and 20 yos shifts vaping in the back and giving us all the tasks😩.. We do have so many people scheduled that’s fine but, every time the only other person and I who cares about quality craft we get different answers… Please clarify these things for us!! My shift doesn’t even know what app is the one to find the recipes on💀.
- HOW IS MOCHA MADE?. LOL always fudged for some rsn
-flat white whole milk and an extra shot R?
- iced americanos get ICE not HOT WATER!!
-6 pumps Venti iced drinks, 5 venti hot
-SWEET CREAM N MIKK SHOULD NOT BE LEFT OUT UNLESS RUSH
-grilled cheese butter side up?
-if customers are on a call while sitting in window, don’t disturb them right?
Lol that’s all I have will definitely need more help later Yes we are licensed Yes this is my second job could not imagine being here full time.

mocha instructions are on the bag they come in but it’s 1L of hot water in a big pitcher and another liter of water added in as you add the powder. yes fw get whole milk and an extra shot. yes iced americanos get cold water. yup iced ventis get 6 pumps hot ventis get five. sweet cream should not be left out unless it’s a rush and you’ll be using it. again the instructions are on the bag, they say butter size down.

butter side down because if its butter side up it gets soggy and not crispy

when in doubt, use the partner resource app on tablet!!
Also, there is no rule on the phone thing.. but in my life, etiquette is that I pause my phone call and prioritize the person in front of me, thereby acknowledging them as a fellow human and not a robot.
It's their fault they are on the phone. The louder you can interact with them, the better. 😉

there was a post a while ago ab butter side up vs butter side down and i believe someone found a resource stating it is butter side up
GhostfaceJK1 points6m ago
i type these while looking at the store resources bc i’m at work
mocha powder bag has instructions but it’s 2L of hot water and all the powder and you whisk it
flat white is whole milk, R shots 2/2/3/3
iced americanos are cold water to third line then ice
sweet cream shouldn’t be left out the fridge for long bc it won’t foam up right (i learned this during barista craft !)
grilled cheese butter side down
venti cold is 6, venti hot is 5
idk abt last one i’m cafe only

Also what’s the ratio for frappes both cream and coffe to pumps?
MoonCatlol2 points6m ago
Tall- 2 pumps of frap roast(if it’s a coffee Frappuccino) 2 pumps of base and whatever syrups added(unless specified otherwise) Grande- 3 pumps (everything applies here too but in 3) Venti- 4 pumps(also everything applies here too but in 4) Hope this helps :)

Note that if the syrup doesn't have a cold bar pump, each full pump is equivalent to two cold bar pumps.
For example, a Venti Caramel Brulee Frappuccino gets 4 Pumps of roast, 4 pumps of base, and 2 pumps of Brulee sauce.

Oh yes forgot to add that
GhostfaceJK1 points6m ago
2/3/4 for stuff like frap roast and base syrups
half pumps (i do 1/1.5/2) for flavouring syrups EXCEPT for matcha fraps which get full pumps of classic
