Benefits hours (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by barrymanilowfanilow
I came so starbucks solely to get ASU paid for, started at Starbs in september. I didn’t understand how the counting of hours worked and was 8 hours short for this last audit, and need like 60 hours in the next two weeks to qualify for it in March (not doable). With hours being slashed, should I keep trucking on at Starbucks and try for the next next audit or is it too iffy that I’d be able to qualify? I left my other job (that I made almost double at) just for the Starbucks benefits so if I can’t get the benefits I’m DIPPING OUT. Your experiences/insights?

30 hours a week is doable… ask other partners for their shifts and ask your manager for more shifts

I agree, 30 hours a week isn't insane if they can borrow you out to other stores or see if you can pick up hours, ask people who you know don't really wanna be there if they wanna extra day off or anyone who has a ton of vacay/sick time as well
