Iced cappuccino (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by No_Tip4841
How would you make that? Like a ice shaken expresso? Or ice, milk and steamed foam?

Not many will remember the OG recipe but it's scoop of ice to size, shots over ice, milk to the top line, regular cold foam on top
jazzysoranio 3 points 6m ago
What’s funny is that’s not even the actual OG. Before that we had an official recipe card for an iced cappuccino. It was just an iced latte with a SCOOP OF HOT MILK FOAM! 🫣😑 Why did this exist?! No idea. It was rare but there were a few customers who actually ordered this.

AND 99% of people would complain that the foam immediately melted and made their drink warmer.
somewheredaydreaming 2 points 6m ago
I mean yes. This is the original OG. However, Pete's still offers a hot foam iced cap so I try to stear away from going that far into that past as to not confuse people 🥲 that is an actual iced cap, with hot foam. Our recipe with nonfat foam is not even an actual iced cap just a cop out for Starbucks to make money off a name 😵‍💫

I mean, cold foam makes more sense anyway.
somewheredaydreaming 2 points 6m ago
What's sense? This is Starbucks 😂 (heavy sarcasm)
trollious_troll 2 points 6m ago
That actually sounds pretty good
somewheredaydreaming 2 points 6m ago
It is honestly, add some flavor and yeeehaw 🤠

I would ask the customer for clarification because the drink isn’t on the menu. Some people might be looking for an iced latte with plain cold foam, similar to how the drink was made the last time Starbucks offered it. Others might be looking for a gas station “cappuccino” that’s more like a regular iced latte. If you live in an area with Tim Hortons, customers might want something like their Iced Capp. You just have to find out.

Shots over ice, splash of milk, dry foam of the same kind of milk (number 4 on the blender)

Once upon a time, it was basically an iced latte with extra ice and nonfat cold foam. THEN Starbucks committed the ultimate crime and decided that iced caps would be made like an iced latte with a scoop of hot steamed foam. Despicable! The best way in my opinion is an iced triple espresso with whole milk cold foam that has one half pump of vanilla.
Specialist_Salt_507 2 points 6m ago
Other way around. It was hot foam first because cold foam hadn’t launched yet.

Way back when I first got hired I was trained to make iced capps with steamed foam. A lot of steamed foam. It was such a pain to make and I didn’t understand the draw.
ManBeerPig1211 2 points 6m ago
You can press 4 on the CF blender to get the dry foam option. Use non fat and it gets super super thick.

If it’s not on the menu then people have to provide a recipe for us to make it. There’s no iced cap recipe on the iPad I think (someone please correct me if there is)

I’m in Canada and 90% of the time they want the Tim hortons iced cap so I make a coffee frapp. Otherwise I think the old recipe is basically an iced latte with the nonfat cold foam on top

I usually just make a lot with Xtra cold foam. Cold foam made out of nonfat because it gets the thickest😍

When I worked at the bucks, we made an iced latte with nonfat cold foam on top but always clarified what we were doing when taking the order
licensedsociopath 2 points 6m ago
I would make an iced latte with extra cold foam.

I have a regular that comes in fairly frequently and I was told to make it it with shots, milk to the 1st line , ice, and then steamed non-fat milk on top.

It never really made sense to me because why would I put hot foam on a cold drink 🤷🏻‍♀️
borrowedurmumsvcard 1 points 6m ago
shots over ice, a lil bit of nonfat milk and then a bunch of nonfat cold foam
