SM changed my shift w/o asking? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I’m genuinely just curious here… I have a shift on Monday ( so 2 days away ) and my store manager just changed it and now it’s three hours longer than what it originally was. Are they allowed to modify my shift without asking? I already had plans set up for after my shift but now I have to move things around.

Unfortunately my manager does this a lot. She doesn't ask us, but she will let us know in the group chat. "Just so you guys know I'm channing the schedule for this week so make sure to check it!" And then proceeds to change the schedule for tomorrow. I can't fucking stand it.
It doesn't change my plans too much, because I have a second job so my availability will always keep me from working later than I'm supposed to, but it is super annoying.

I had a manager for a minute that would change everyone's schedules and then not tell anyone. I told her she needs to tell us because people are showing up early/late and she got mad at me lol

Check your state laws, it varies state to state :/ My state it's legal but that have to pay you extra if they changed it more than 30 minutes after it's already been posted
