If I currently use Android and was to become blind and need to use a braille display in the future would I have to buy and use an iPhone since it has the better braille display support, and Android braille display support isn't usable? (self.Blind)

Absolutely not. First of all, you probably don't need a braille display for your phone. Braille displays are not terribly portable. You would more likely use a Braille display with your computer or a dedicated Braille note taker like the BrailleSense Polaris.

For your phone, using a screen reader is the way. Android has a screen reader that can do pretty much anything you need and because its Android, you may be able to side load some open source project on there or something.

I have heating trouble currently.

Iphones have what is typically considerd better built in accessibility and voiceover. That being said if you have never used one you may find switching to the OS difficult, and will have an easier time using Android accessibility features.

As far as braille displays are concerned, if you learn the skills necessary to use one proficiently you probably won't be pairing it with your phone as much as an ipad or PC. That's just my two cents.

Would an iPad be a good device to use?

It's an option, but it depends what you want to do. I prefer using a PC with JAWS and a terminal because that is what I'm familiar with and it gives me access to everything.

Are you concerned you'll become blind suddenly for some reason?
