I mean, I'm married, so.... I generally like living with the family, even if I do occasionally fantasize about running away to a tiny cabin in the woods of Maine.

When I was younger, I definitely preferred living alone to having roommates.

I also found that once I moved out of my dad's house, it was very difficult to go back to living with him. I had moved to another country and when I came back to the US, I stayed with him for a couple of months until I could get my own place. We have a good relationship, so it wasn't bad, but I just wanted to live on my own at that point.

Live in a somewhat small house in the middle of New Hampshire, do not recommend. If you like Maine, go Portland, very blind friendly in my experience.

Yeah, I like Portland and found it pretty accessible the few times I've visited.

I was there for the Iris network program during winter, didn’t agree with the program, loved the city. Ubers were inexpensive and quick, and there was plenty of stuff I could walk to.

Sounds like me. I think I'd have been quite happy alone if I hadn't gotten married and had children, though

Yep same, though not technically married but close enough and do have an advance up yep.

I have ADHD in addition to being blind, so I need the stimulation from other people, but also want some space to go and hide away.

I love the company of friends and family but if given the choice I would rather live alone. Sadly there doesn’t seem to be any options for me even though I’m on disability.

I've been living with my long term partner since the early 2000s so I'm kind of used to it now! There's no way I'd be able to afford the place we have on my own, anyway.

I'd like and prefer living alone. Even tho chance of injury and random visits will increase dramatically

I live alone, it’s much easier for me to adapt my environment the way I need to without having a bunch of people moving stuff around or leaving doors and cabinets open for me to knock myself out on, or turning on an ungodly amount of lights for that matter.

I agree. I like living alone.

My lovely wife and I started dating in high school the summer of '83. Our kids are parents themselves.

My wife is very aware of my other medical problems and so far she's doing great. I've been sliding into the range of legal blindness for 6 months. Hoping to get a diagnosis in two weeks. Living alone would be horrible to me.

Livin alone is not somethin I'm really into cause I'm like a strong-ass extravert plus it could be quite boring

I am lucky to live at my mom's home. Currently it's just because I don't have a job (hoping to change that within the next few months) but even still I don't think I would like to be completely independent. As much as I like my privacy I like having people to talk to and spend time with and live life with, and I don't think I could cook for just one person after being used to cooking for three or four people. I like my mom's house in the suburbs, but moving out to my own apartment would be nice, I don't know.

I think I’d like living alone but I’ve lived with people most of my life, still live with my parents. The main issue is the cost of living in the United states especially here in california. But I think I’d prefer to live alone.
